Redeemers University set to hold its 12th Convocation

Redeemer’s University of Nigeria (RUN) is set to hold its 12th convocation ceremony. This year, it will be a virtual event due to the Covid19 pandemic. The lineup of events has been drawn.


The convocation ceremony will include the award of prizes and certificates for undergraduate and postgraduate students for 2019/2020 academic session. The invitation to the virtual ceremony was made by the Vice-chancellor Prof. Anthony Akinlo on behalf of the visitor chairman of Board of Trustee Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor State congregation staff, and students. The latest graduates have been tagged as the ‘’Daniel’s Generation".


Below is the lineup of events of Redeemer’s University's 12th Virtual Convocation Ceremony 2020

Sunday 8th November 2020
Thanksgiving service
Time: 11 am

Father’s Blessing and Impartation by:
The visitor, Pastor E. A Adeboye
(Charge and prayer for the graduating students)
Time: 7pm

Monday 9th November 2020
Convocation lecture

Title: Entrepreneurship, Agriculture and Youth empowerment

Lecturer: Mrs Ibukun Awosika (Chairman, First Bank of Nigeria Plc)
Time: 10 am

Convocation play
Time: 7pm

Tuesday 10th November 2020
Convocation day
Awards of undergraduate and postgraduate and postgraduate degrees.
Time: 10am

The virtual convocation will be broadcast on Dove Television and social media.

Redeemer’s University Profile:
Redeemer's University is a private Nigerian university owned by the Redeemed Christian Church of God. It is situated in Ede, Osun State. Established in 2005, the university admitted its first set of first set of M.A., M.Sc., and PhD. Students in the 2012/2013 academic session.

Among the achievements of the institution include its emergence as the best rated university among 15 prestigious universities selected from West and Central Africa. This achievement came with a World Bank Grant to fund the establishment of the African Centre of Excellence for Genomics of Infectious Diseases (ACEGID) in 2013.

Since its establishments, the university has produced 5 sets of graduates. In total, it has 26 academic programs. The university had three colleges as at 2013/2014 academic year - the College of Natural Science, the College of Management Science, and the College of Humanities. However, more colleges have been established.

Its current Vice Chancellor is Prof. Anthony Enisan Akinlo, a professor of Monetary and Development Economics.
