Emotional: Switzerland-based Nigerian Catholic priest emotional after Swiss Parish surprised him with an Igbo song

Father Gerald Ani

Reverend Father Gerald Ani was surprised and became emotional which his parish based in Lugano, Switzerland, surprised him by singing an Igbo song (LEE M ANYA NA MKPURUOBI) during the Holy Mass (after the communion) on the occasion of his 10th priestly anniversary.

In a Facebook video posted by one of his Nigerian parishioners, Stanley Orazulike, you can see that when the choir started the song, he was pleasantly surprised when he recognised that it was an igbo song.

Mid-way through the song, he can be seen cleaning his eyes. After a while, he knelt down with his head on the table, possibly trying to contain his emotions. Another priest is seen patting him on the back apparently trying to console him.

The song must have brought back memories of his folks back home. Kudos to the choir for taking time to learn the Igbo song.
