Àso Rock doesn't feel the challenges of Nigerians --Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, has said that the country's seat of power, Aso Rock, does not feel the challenges that Nigerians are passing through. He added that the cost of food items in the country are skyrocketing and insecurity is getting worse.

The 80 year-old cleric made this statement during the Thanksgiving Service of the church at its headquarters in Ogun State on Sunday.

According to Adeboye, the cost of flight tickets have increased and the increase in bread prices is quite alarming too. Meanwhile, it would be the seventh time that the national grid will be collapsing in months.

However, all these issues do not concern Aso Rock because there will always be constant electricity there. He also prayed for peace in the country. In addition, he urged members of his congregation to pray for the leaders of the country because any decision they make usually affect the people.

He said, “Pray for the rulers, we have spent so much time criticising them. You should pray for them. I am praying for them, I pray you will join me to pray.

“No matter the amount of bread cost, there will be bread in Aso rock. No matter the collapse, there will be light in Aso rock."

On the cost of flight tickets from Lagos to Abuja, the cleric said, “It used to be about N60,000. I asked what happened and they told me.”
Also, he lamented the current state of insecurity in the country and how 'normal' it has become for traditional rulers to be kidnapped unlike in the past.

Adeboye said, “In the olden days, except you are one of the special people, they don’t allow the king’s dress to touch you. But thank God.

“Now kidnappers can go to the palace to kidnap the king. We are in a war situation, let no one deceive you.”

He added, “What kings, soldiers can’t do, the Almighty God will do for you.

“Pray for the rulers, we have spent so much time criticising them. You should pray for them. I’m praying for them, I pray you will join me to pray."
