MFM empower 468 youths in Calabar

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has empowered no fewer than 468 individuals with skills in Calabar, Cross Rivers State.

The beneficiaries include other denominations and Muslims across the state. After the one month program, attendees were awarded with certificates from the church. Also, prayers were said for them.

The participants were around the ages of 15 and 30 and they were grateful for the opportunity. They were taught skills which ranged from bakery, cosmetology, shoe making, online business, and hats designs.

The Regional Overseer, Youth Region 17, Pastor James Ogede, who anchored the program, said that the quest to train youths began in 2015. The first year of the program saw the training of 512 youths. The second training in 2016 had 523 youths in attendance.

In 2017, 2018, 2019, the church trained 524, 488 and 522 youths respectively. However, there was a break in the training in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ogede said that the decision of the church to empower the youths was part of its plan to transform their lives. Also, it aims to prevent the youths from getting involved in illegal activities which can be destructive to their lives.

In conclusion, he appreciated the General Overseer of the church, Dr Daniel Olukoya, for his immense support for the program.

The South South Region II Mega Overseer of the church, Pastor Mike Ikonne, gave the certificates to the attendees.

While handing over the certificates to them, he said,  “From the skills you have acquired, God will anoint and set you apart and change your destiny. So, do not take it lightly because some of you have been staying at home owing to the ASUU strike and some of you just finished secondary school and are doing nothing while some of you are on holidays.

“This one month training is useful to you because out there, the devil is in a battle against young people to impoverish and humiliate them but you have been empowered to excel, so take good advantage of it.”
