I love cartoons! Good old Tom & Jerry, Bugs Bunny, Donald Duck and the plethora of characters from Loony Tunes was my cup of tea. Now these are considered ‘old school’ and the term now used is animation or animated movies. So when I discovered the video of the Crowder song, Crushing Snakes – the Showdown ft Taya, I was over the moon.
A tale of an epic battle, warriors, fight scenes, armies amassed
and a resounding victory to the conquering army was right up my alley. The fact
that the visuals narrating the song was animation made it even better. When I discovered
this great song by one of my loved musicians I was instantly sold.
Many of you might already know the song and video of which I
speak, so kindly bear with me. This will convince newbies why they should not
only listen to the song, since the lyrics are crystal clear. Animation lovers
too will but agree that the video is worth being considered for development
into a full blow movie or series.
Lyrics
We’re not afraid
Terrors of night
Arrows that fly by day
Ten thousand may fall but we
We will remain
We’re not afraid
A promise of God
Can never be torn away
Walking on hands of angels.
Crushing snakes
Safe under the shadow of His wins
Our fortress and our strength
Our fortress
Do you see Him
King of Heaven
Champion of all creation
Do you see Him
Piercing through the sky
Breaking through the darkness
Do you see HIm
The song reminds believers
that we never fight alone and that the battle (such as it is) is already rigged
in our favour anyway, but we must take a stand and not give in. Scriptures like
Revelations 19:15, 2:16 and Ephesians 4:8-10 were made vivid through the visuals
in this video.
From His mouth goes forth a sharp
sword with which He can smite (afflict, strike) the nations; and He will
shepherd and control them with a staff (scepter, rod) of
iron. He will tread the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath and indignation of God the All-Ruler (the Almighty, the
Omnipotent). (Revelation 19:15).
who is mister harp guy at the end?
