Police offer $5,000 for info on murdered Texas pastor

A reward of $5,000 is being offered to anyone with valuable information that can lead to the arrest of the murders of Rev. Ronald Mouton Sr., who was a pastor of East Bethel Missionary Baptist Church          

According to Click 2 Houston, Mouton, who has been a part of his church for 30 years, was killed by another driver as he was driving on the Gulf Freeway.

Rep. Sheila Jackson, R-Texas, and Crime Stoppers of Houston are bankrolling the reward for anyone with tangible information in this case.

According to the Houston Police Department, they have a surveillance video from Nguyen Injury Lawyers and Pusch which revealed what occurred before Mouton was killed.

However, the suspects have not been arrested yet.

Members of the church have sent their condolences to the family of the deceased.

East Bethel Missionary Baptist Church announced Mouton’s death on social media saying, “Dr. Mouton was known and loved by many. If you knew him, you would know him to be a gracious servant, a leader, and a friend. As we begin to cope with the reality of his passing, we ask that you would respect our family’s privacy during this time."

Senior Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in New York, Quinton Chad Foster, described Mouton as an individual with humility, grace and integrity who had a heart for people.

He wrote, “Pastor Ronald Mouton had his daddy’s grace, humility, and integrity. He had a heart for people and a passion for preaching. Just being in his presence, you knew he came from great stock! Pastor Ronald Mouton was a great pastor, preacher, and singer. He had it all when it came to the pulpit.”

Mouton is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, four children, 10 grandchildren, a twin brother and other siblings.
