How I overcame being sorrowful after my son’s death – Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed how he overcame his sorrow caused by the death of his son, Dare, who passed on in May 2021.

The 80-year-old cleric said that a text message from one of his spiritual daughters, asking him to allow God carry him, was what led to the end of him being sorrowful.

Adeboye made this revelation during the
April 2022 Holy Ghost Service of the church at its headquarters along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Friday.

Daddy GO, as the octogenarian is often called, spoke on the theme ‘Signs and Wonders.’ He said that his children are evidence that God is the defense of the defenseless, a burden-bearer, a miracle worker, and a covenant-keeper. He noted that God is a carrier who carries sorrow, burden, and problems, provided one has the nature of a child.

Adeboye said, “When I lost my son last year (2021), then I was deeply in sorrow, I got a text (message) from one of my (spiritual) daughters that suddenly turned the tide. What she wrote was simply this: Daddy, let God carry you.”

Dare Adeboye died on May 4, 2021 in Eket, Akwa Ibom State where he was a pastor in one of the church branches. He passed on in his sleep.
