(Karibi Fubara)
Nollywood actor, Karibi Fabuara, is dead. His death was announced today by his sister, Stella Fubara. In her post she said, “He was a warrior…now he’s an angel in heaven. Rest my darling brother Kabiri. We only remember the good times.’’
According to Channels Television, Stella Fubara is a top official working with the government of Dubai, where the actor had been undergoing cancer treatment for the past year.
Karibi, who is notable for his role as Francis in the 2018 faith-based movie ‘’God Calling,’’ has done other works over the years including Smart Money Woman. In 2019, he married popular Nollywood fashion entrepreneur, Yolanda Okereke.
His passing has been greeted with tributes from his colleagues including Ufuoma McDermott, Omoni Oboli, and others.
In her comment on his passing, actress Ufuoma McDermott said, ‘’I’m just here praying for strength for you and Yolo. Bro, Glad I and the kids could make you laugh the last time you were here. Sleep well Karibi, sleep well.
Media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu said, ‘’This is really sad. So sorry.’’
Film maker, Niyi Akinmolayan commented, ‘’Oh dear! That was one of the finest people I have ever met. So sorry @yolandaokereke @kalanne_fubara. This is really painful. Oh dear, this is too painful.’’
Tayo Faniran posted, ‘’I’m so sorry for your loss. He was really strong and you gave him the best support. May his soul rest in peace. This is sad.
Omoni Oboli said, ‘’Rest well champ. You fought, now you rest. My thoughts and prayers are weigh you sis. Love you loads.’’
Mo Abudu said, ‘’My darling twinnie, he fought a good fight. Such a lovely soul. May the Lord be your strength at this time. RIP Karibi.
