Gunmen Attack Church in Kaduna Community; Nigerians React

On Sunday morning, gunmen attacked an ECWA Church at Gabaciwa village in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Reportedly, at least one person was killed while several others were injured.

Security agencies stated that the gunmen stormed the church while the morning worship service was still on. They attacked the worshippers instantly which resulted to the death of one person while others sustained injuries.

While commenting on the incident, the governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai condemned the attack. He added that it as an evil act for innocent citizens who are exercising their constitutional rights to religious freedom to be attacked.

Besides, he prayed for the repose of the lost soul while he commiserated with the church and the family of the deceased. Consequently, the governor asked the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency to assess the area and provide assistance to those receiving medical attention.

Reactions:
Nkechi Charity said, ‘’Where are those carrying placards overseas claiming there are no attacks on churches. Vengeance is near all those responsible.’’

Gabriel Uluata commented, ‘’I thought El-Rufai supporters said there were never attacks on Kaduna churches. Well, I think it’s high time people started defending themselves against the enemies. The government cannot protect us.’’

Mavelous Onu posted, ‘’Stop calling them gunmen. They are not gunmen but business men doing their normal business across Kaduna metropolis.’’

Israel James Ojonemile said, ‘’Is anyone going to stay on earth forever? He that kills by the sword shall receive the same measure.’’

Otobong Oton commented, ‘’It is high time Christians in Nigeria start behaving like Rabi in Israel by going to church fully armed/ I believe this can only happen in the North. God save us now.’’
