"Pastor, evangelist, and author Rev. Ernest Angley has gone to Heaven to be with His Lord and Master at 99. He touched multitudes of souls worldwide with the pure Word of God confirmed with signs, wonders, miracles, and healings. He truly pleased God in all things."

According to FOX 8 of Cleveland, the televangelist headed the Grace Cathedral church for several decades in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, in the Cleveland-Akron area. He attended the Church of God Bible Training School in Tennessee at age 20. There, he met his wife, Esther Lee - known as Angel. She passed on in 1970 at age 49.

Together, the couple attended church events in the south before the ministry was moved in 1954 to Springfield Township, southeast of Akron. The church grew from a pop-up tent to a parking lot within a few years. Thereafter, it moved to a $1 million building that drew thousands of followers weekly.

His ministry transcended to the media as he aired his services on radio. Author Stephen Pullum referred to Angley on Cleveland.com as one who offered hope to the hopeless. The cause of his death has not been disclosed and funeral arrangements are still pending to the public.
