Gospel music is fast taking the front stage in Nigeria. The world is fast coming to accept gospel music and all that it has to offer. It is no news that gospel music has affected many lives positively. It is as a form of ministration. Besides, many persons have been drawn back to their creator due to the effect of the songs in their lives.
Also, many persons have come to identify with their favorite gospel act over the years. Periodically, concerts are organized to promote the gospel of Christ. These gospel events always draw a good number of attendance. One gospel artist that has brought many persons to Christ is Bola Are.
Bola Are has lifted many souls into the service of God. She has composed songs that have attracted many persons into Gods kingdom. Her efforts have not gone unnoticed as she is constantly celebrated. On October 1st 1954, Bola Are was born in Ekiti state. Her family, friends, fans, and well wishers have come together to celebrate this amazing woman as she clocked 66 years on earth.
Her Early Years
Bola Are is a gospel artist par excellence. She was born 66 years ago in Erio, Ekiti-West LGA, Ekiti state. She was raised by her father, Elder Babayomi and her mother, Mrs T. A. Babayomi. She attended Christ Apostolic Church primary school in Erio. Also, her secondary education was at Christ Apostolic Church, Efon Alaye. They were both in Ekiti state. She has a diploma in accounting from The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
Bola Are started displaying her singing talent when she was two years old. She was raised in Christ Apostolic Church with the guidainace of prophets like Prophet Akande, Apostle Ayodele Babalola, Prophet Babajide, and Prophet T.O. Obadare.
Her music career started to blossom and she founded the Bola and Her Spiritual Singers in June 26, 1973. Her first album was released on August 1977 and it was titled Baba Kuse.
Her works have not gone unrecognised as St. Johns University awarded her an honorary doctorate degree in Music in July 1985. More so, she was the former head of Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria.
Personal Life
In 1977, Bola Are got married to late Pastor J.O Are. The union was blessed with children who are equally singers. As part of her desire to grow the gospel of Christ Jesus through her songs, Bola Are formed the School of Gospel Music International. It will be recalled that on October 5th, 2013, the prolific singer marked her 40th year on stage.
Her Albums So Far
For someone who grew under the tutelage of prophets, Evangelist Bola Are, as she is fondly called, had the inkling that she was cut out for Gods service. Besides, she discovered her singing talent at the age of two. Thereafter, she has been running with her talent and has never backed down on it.
Evangelist Bola Are knew she would serve the Lord at a very young age and pursed it. She also recalled her parents telling her that she started singing before she clocked one year. Hence, she considers herself as a born singer.
Evangelist Bola Are has released a good number of albums in her decades stay in the industry. It is pertinent to note that the renowned singer has relased over seventy albums as at 2014.
