People laughed at me when my son died – Pastor Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said that when he lost his son, Dare, in 2021, some persons mocked him.

He made this statement during the ongoing 70th Annual Convention of the church on Tuesday night. The theme of the convention is ‘Perfect Jubilee’.

The convention started on Monday, August 8. The 80-year-old cleric, who preached on the topic ‘Born Free’, advised members of his congregation to allow God to carry them when they are going through challenges in life.

He also revealed that some people laughed at him when he lost his third child, Dare. According to him, that was the saddest moment in his life. Dare, who died at the age of 42, was also a pastor in the church.

Adeboye said, “Some of you have heard this before. When I was in the saddest period of my life, with so many questions and I know that even in my deep sorrow some people were still laughing at me, I got a text from one of my daughters.

“All she said was: ‘Daddy, let God carry you’. And that put an end to any problem; it ended my sorrows. It renewed my faith.”

The convention will be concluded on Sunday, August 14, 2022.
