Adeboye, Others, Commiserate with Ondo Church Terrorist Attack Victims

Adeboye

There have been series of condolence messages to the victims of the terrorist attack at St. Francis Catholic church, Owo, Ondo State on Sunday, June 5, 2022.

On Tuesday afternoon, General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, said God is greatly displeased with the sad news. In his words, “My heart goes out to everyone who has suffered from this gruesome attack. I am unable to grasp the evil that motivates one human being to deliberately take the life of another.

“Every soul counts before God, and I know that He is greatly displeased with this wickedness. I pray that God comforts the loved ones of the departed, and the people of Ondo at large. May we never have cause to send such greetings again. And may Nigeria never know such bloodshed again.”

On his part, Senior Pastor of The Elevation Church, Godman Akinlabi, said that the perpetrators must be brought to book. He said, “The news report of the gruesome murder of worshippers at St Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State by unknown gunmen is highly condemnable. Our freedom of association and religion cannot be negotiated. Perpetrators must be brought to the book.

“My deepest condolences go to the families whose hearts are broken. May God comfort their hearts.”

Gospel singer, Ada Ehi Moses said, “How do people aim a riffle at a child? At elderly people? Or at any one? Your fellow country men? What agenda can be worth innocent blood? How do you even decide that an innocent man is deserving of death at your hand? So pained by this. So so pained. Lord have mercy on Nigeria. My condolences to all the grieving families. We pray! We get PVC! We get ready to protect our votes!”

Also, Serving Overseer of Citadel Global Community Church, Tunde Bakare said, “This horrific tragedy is an assault on the Nigerian State, a desecration of the Nigerian constitution, and an affront on our collective freedoms as citizens, including the freedom to assemble and the freedom to worship God.

“I call on the security agencies to waste no time in fishing out every perpetrators and accomplice in the conception, planning, financing, and execution of this evil and to ensure that they are brought to justice speedily in line with the relevant laws preventing and prohibiting terrorism in Nigeria…”

So far, government officials have visited the victims of the attack and monies have also been donated to aid their treatment.
