Gunmen Kill Abducted Baptist Church Members

Two of the 66 members of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Kakau Daji in Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna, who were kidnapped on Sunday, October 31, by gunmen, have been killed. This news was confirmed by the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kaduna State chapter, John Hayab on Sunday, November 7.

According to Hayab, the kidnappers shot at five of their victims on Saturday. Two died instantly while three were badly injured. Reports have it that they are presently in the hospital.

Hayab said, “The lives of Kaduna abducted worshippers are in danger and require the urgent intervention of government and security agencies.

“The insecurity in Kaduna state has continued to grow beyond our imagination and is threatening the peace of the nation.

“CAN Kaduna State is appealing to well-meaning individuals, organisations, those in authority, especially the federal government and the international community to come to our rescue.’’

The cleric lamented about the situation in the state and appealed to all Christians to be united in ‘’fighting this evil.’’

“The evil we are experiencing is more than what an ordinary person in Kaduna and Nigeria can handle. CAN is appealing to all Christians and people of our state to be united in fighting this evil and be watchful," he said.
