Renowned Christian Leader, Dr. Yonggi Cho, Passes On

          

Renowned South Korean Christian minister, Dr. David Yonggi Cho (also known as Paul Yonggi Cho) has passed on. Born on February 14, 1936, Cho died today, September 14, 2021 from complications due to stroke. He was the co-founder of Yoido Full Gospel Church (Assemblies of God) with an auditorium of 83,000 sitting capacity. It is arguably the largest church in the world. 

There have been an outpour of tributes worldwide to celebrate the late ambassador of Christ. He touched many lives globally. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

World Christianity announced: ‘’We lost another General today. Dr. David Yongi Cho went to his great reward with Jesus – It’s time for another Generation of Prophetic Evangelists to arise.’’

Church Gist posted: ‘’David Yongi Cho is now with Jesus. God’s servant, Dr. David Yongi Cho has gone to be with the Lord Jesus at the age of 85. He passed on to glory today September, 2021. 

"Pastor and co-founder of the Yoido Full Gospel Church (Assemblies of God), at a time the world’s largest single congregation. A lover of God who led the revival in the Republic of Korea. A most humble man.  Life invested in God, a life fully abandoned at the feet of Christ. We thank God for a seed that became a harvest. Your works do follow you. Thank you Jesus.’’

Pator Johnson Ameh said: ‘’Dr. David Yongi Cho has gone to be with the Lord at the age of 85. Farewell to our contemporary Father of the Cell Fellowship and a General in God’s Army, Dr. Yongi Cho. Your legacy will live from generation to generation. My prayers and thoughts are with the family; the Lord console them.’’

Prophet Alex Dr. Shumba 1 posted: ‘’Thank you Dr. David Yongi Cho! Generals of God are returning home to be with the Lord one after the other. Is this rapture? Is it a warning that Jesus is coming back again? Heaven has gained a general with the largest church on earth. May the soul of this great general rest in Christ.''

‘’Sir, you have finished your race and now it has remained with us to work out our salvation because no one knows the day they will die. So, we must be prepared at all times,'’ he added.

Juliet Arah said: '’South Korea and China has been one of my dream countries. I have many reasons for this. But Pastor Yonggi Cho was one of the reasons. I have read about him. I wished I could talk like father and daughter. 

"When I met with great men like this, I ask for the privilege of mentorship. RIP God’s general. To me, you are not dead, you only changed address from mortality to immortality. The greatest chase one can go after is the race of the kingdom. Adieu great man," she added.
