Osinbajo: God’s promises for Nigeria will surely come to pass.

On Sunday, April 25, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo stated that the greatness of Nigeria as promised by God can never be defeated. He made this statement at the 108th annual convention of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC) which was monitored by The Cable.

The theme of the convention is Moving Forward: Finishing the Race with Joy. He was represented by his spokesman, Laolu Akande.

Osinbajo acknowledged that Nigeria is presently going through some challenges. However, the challenges are channels in which the country will achieve peace and prosperity. He also added that God’s plan for the nation is to become a place of scientific and economic exploits. More so, the greatness of this nation will be more visible than ever.

Nevertheless, there are a lot of challenges posing as a gridlock to God’s promises. Consequently, it seems impossible for the promises to come to actualisation. This was the same situation the children of Israel found themselves as they journeyed to the promise land after they left Egypt.

He said that Nigeria is currently experiencing a storm. Hopefully, we will overcome and see the light at the end of the tunnel. As the Bible says, weeping may endure for the night but joy comes in the morning.

Osinbajo continued saying that he is certain that no individual, association or ideology can conquer God’s promises for Nigeria’s greatness. He sees the signs and he is confident of it.

Furthermore, he advised religious leaders to remain positive about the nation. Likewise, they should proclaim positive words regularly because God’s plan for the country will come to pass.

Besides, he encouraged everyone to remain steadfast and not be like the children of Israel who entertained fear before Goliath. Also, people must eschew complaining constantly like the children of Israel when they were being waylaid by Pharaoh till they got to the Red Sea.

Osinbajo added that we the light of this world and the voice of God in a confused and discouraged world. Hence, our words must be according to God’s promises for us because they will be actualised.

"The clouds cannot deny the existence of the sun, they may cover it for a while, but they must give way to the glorious brightness of sunshine,” he concluded.
