The Abducted Kankara boys have been rescued #ourboysareback

The abducted students of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara has been rescued. This is as stated in a tweet from Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant on New Media to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He tweeted this at 9.25p.m. December 17, 2020.
"The abducted students of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara has been rescued, the Katsina State Government has confirmed the news. Alhamdulillah!"

The students were abducted last week Friday in a raid by gunmen which brought about 600 students either fleeing or captured by the gunmen. After some time, half of them were found while about 333 of them were confirmed abducted.

President Muhammadu Buhari has also sent out a tweet on the release of the students

"I welcome the release of the kidnapped students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara. This is a huge relief to the entire country & international community. The entire country is grateful to Governor Masari, the Intelligence Agencies, the Military and the Police Force."
"Our administration is fully aware of the responsibility we have to protect the lives and property of all Nigerians. I ask Nigerians to be patient and fair to us as we deal with the challenges of security, the economy, and corruption. We will not relent."
The local authorities say that after the boys’ medical examinations in the morning, they would meet with Buhari, and be reunited with their families.
