Dr. Olukoya and wife celebrate 31st Wedding Anniversary


General Overseer of Mountain of Fire Ministry, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya and his wife, Sister Shade, marked their 31st wedding anniversary on November 12, 2020. In his Instagram page, the revered cleric made a post to celebrate their day. He said: For the journey thus far, we say Thank you Lord. For keeping us in perfect peace, Thank you Lord. For greater years to come Thank You Lord. For the love, joy, peace, that knows no ending Thou hath bestowed upon us, We say Thank you Lord.

Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya was born in Akure, Ondo State. He is an alumnus of St. Johns CAC Primary School, Akure;  St. Judes Primary school, Ebute metta; and Methodist Boys High School (MBHS), Broad Street, Lagos. He was reportedly a brilliant student while in school. 

The revered cleric got admission into the University of Lagos in 1976 where he studied Microbiology. He finished with a first-class degree in 1980. He set the record of being the first person to graduate with a first-class degree in that course in UNILAG.

He proceeded to the University of Reading on scholarship to study for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular Genetics. Three years later, he returned to the country and joined the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), Yaba. There, he became an exceptional Geneticist of African origin. As an authority in the study of genetics, he has published over 70 genetics papers.


Dr. Olukoya grew up in a Christian home where he learnt the values which he still holds onto. Since his youthful days, he has been committed to Gods service. His years as a preacher increased under the influence of late Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola, the founder of the Christ Apostolic Church. Dr. Olukoya has published over 250 Christian books.

Mrs. Shade Olukoya, wife of the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry, supports her husband in the leadership of the church. She was raised in Christ Apostolic Church. She is an alumnus of Surulere Baptist School, Modupe Johnson; Reagan Memorial Baptist Girls Secondary School, Sabo, Yaba; and Ajjeh Comprehensive High School, Lagos State.

Thereafter, she proceeded to the Darnley Career Academy, London, UK, a college of Arts, Fashion and Textile design, from where she obtained a diploma in Fine Arts and Interior Decoration and a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Mrs. Olukoya is a talented artist. Also, she is the International Coordinator, MFM Women's Foundation. The foundation has been established to empower women in the church through adult literacy education and skill acquisition training programmes.

Mummy G.O, as she is fondly called, is a gifted singer. On special occasions, she and Dr. Olukoya give musical performances to the admiration of the congregation.
