Mike Bamiloye: Patience is a virtue many persons neglect

The world is gradually losing the patience virtue. People are no longer interested in working hard and waiting for its results. They are seeking for quick means to achieve their goals. Patience is very important in the journey of life, Mike Bamiloye says.

Bamiloye is a renowned film maker and president of Mount Zion Faith Ministries. He is of the opinion that this present generation is growing impatient by the day. He took some points from the Bible.

Isaiah 40:31: But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

Hebrews 6:13-15 :
13. For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying
14. Surely blessing I will bless you and multiplying I will multiply you.
15. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

In the words of the renowned film maker, the spirit of Waiting and Patience is gradually flowing away like the Jordan River that empties itself into the Sea of Galilee. Motivational speakers are teaching us to take all that belong to us NOW. We are being told severally never to take "No" for an answer, even from God, who determines the end right from beginning.

Also, Evang. Bamiloye stated that the world, in its bid to becoming impatient, is developing instant means to get things done. He gave an instance where he watched a new technology on television where some type of packaged food was made in a way that it would be hot whenever you want to eat them. You do not need to warm it. This instant way of preserving food is negating the patience of rightful cooking. Mike Bamiloye said.

He also gave examples of ''Drive through Eateries’', ''Instant Soup'', ''Instant Slimming Tablets'', ''Instant Marriage'', and ''Instant Prayer.'' These are the desires of people to make things happen for them without wanting to do any work.

People are no longer interested in waiting periods. They want miracles and God's promises to be fulfilled sharp-sharp. More so, they are no longer interested in Gods appointed time. No matter how impatient human beings tend to be, God still desires us to be patient. God uses our patience to test us, same way he tested Abraham in the Bible.

If you desire God's blessings, you have to be patient. Impatience will only give you the seed of the bond-woman -Ishmael. Meanwhile, God was preparing you a covenant seed- Isaac, if you are patient. Impatience will cost you many years of pains and sufferings. Your future generations will also suffer from your impatience.

The renowned film maker recalled a lady who was desperate for a life partner. Constantly, she met him and stated that she was tired of waiting. Her faith is growing weak and she could no longer wait on the Lord. Bamiloye wondered what other options she had in mind as she was tired of waiting. He advised her not to go into the world because she was desperate in her quest to have a husband.

The lady was further advised to wait on the Lord. At another program, Bamiloye saw her and she was bubbling. She had gotten married and she came to the program with her wedding pictures. Everyone was happy for her that God finally answered her prayers. After a while, she was not heard of.

When people later got to hear about her again, she was dead. She died and was buried without any announcement. After some enquiries, people got to know that she married a man who was already married. She suffered in the marriage. She later died after she was down with a strange ailment for a certain period. She lost her life because she was impatient.

It is paramount to note that Jesus fulfilled a three-and-half-year ministry waiting for 30 years. Mike Bamiloye further advised that anyone who is expecting something from God should exercise patience. We will surely get all that we are waiting for if we are patient. His grace is sufficient for us all. It is only a matter of time.
