Covenant Christian Centre has announced that it will be honouring Sydney Granville Elton (Pa Elton) at the Upcoming West Africa Faith Believers Convention (WAFBEC) 2018 in Lagos.
The announcement was made by the Senior Pastor of the church on his Facebook page today. According to him, Pa Elton is "responsible for so much of what we see today in the Pentecostal/Charismatic expression." He is undoubtedly the father of the Pentecostal Revival Movement in Nigeria.
Pa Elton came from his native country, England, to Nigeria in 1937 as a missionary. He arrived in Ilesha (about 30km from Ile-Ife) in the western part of Nigeria with his wife Hannah and three year old daughter, Ruth.
Pa Elton passed on after fifty years of an eventful ministry and was buried in Ilesa.
The award will be received by his daughter, fondly called Mama Ruth Elton, who is now in her eighties, still serving in the Vineyard based in Ilesa.

WAFBEC 2018 will take place from January 24 to February 03, 2018 at The Covenant Place (Beside National Theatre), Iganmu, Lagos.
