4 die and others injured as suicide bomb blasts occur in University of Maiduguri

There has been two bomb explosions at the University of Maiduguri in Borno State. Reports state that the first bomb exploded at a mosque within the staff quarters at the time Muslim worshippers were busy concluding the early morning prayer. This bomb is though to have been carried out by a teenage girl, a local resident and a lecturer told AFP news agency.

The second one went off university’s 5th gate usually used by pedestrians.

Though no group has claimed responsibility, it is thought to be the work of the Boko Haram insurgents.

President has expressed his condolences to the families of the victims on Twitter.
