The world has officially lost one of the most influential and inspirational messengers of our time. Christian businessman, author, and motivational speaker Zig Ziglar, 86, passed away Wednesday, November 28 following a battle with pneumonia. On just Monday, he celebrated 66 years of marriage with his Jean.

Ziglar who rose to fame in his 40’s, accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at age 45, and often applied the Bible to his inspirational quotes and books. Ziglar focused on positive living, staying in balance, career goals, and leading a happy life.

In an article by the Christian Science Monitor dated Thursday, November 29, Preston Wood Baptist Church Pastor Jack Graham, Ziglar's friend and pastor, said Ziglar "truly was filled with faith."

"He was positive. He was hopeful. You just never heard negativity from Zig Ziglar," Graham said. "It wasn't just something he did on a platform. This was who he was. This is how he lived his life. And he helped so many people,” continued Graham.

Appropriately, Ziglar always brought positive press and encouraging words. He was a light in a dark world, and could always cheer people up during any season of life. He was open and transparent about his own life, always making himself relatable and likeable. It is certain that his encouraging words and inspiring thoughts will live on, and leave behind an incredible legacy.

Below are just a few of the numerous memorable quotes by Zig Ziglar:

“If standard of living is your major objective, quality of life almost never improves, but if quality of life is your number one objective, your standard of living almost always improves.”

“A goal properly set is halfway reached.”

“Failing is an event, not a person. Yesterday ended last night.”

“It's not how far you fall, but how high you bounce that counts.”

“If you learn from defeat, you haven't really lost.”
