Leke Adeboye inaugurating the school

Pastor Leke Adeboye, son of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has inaugurated a library at Sogunle Primary School in Ikeja, Lagos, The Punch reports.

Living Seed Church (The Bridge), a parish under RCCG Youth Province 1, in collaboration with the Dare Adeboye Foundation, donated the library.

The building was inaugurated on June 29, 2020 by Leke, who is the Assistant Pastor in Charge of Corporate Social Responsibility, RCCG Youth Province 1, and the lead pastor of RCCG, The Bridge.

During the inauguration, Leke spoke on the need for education. He said, “Education is the most important thing. Even Jesus came to educate the 12 disciples so that they can educate the rest of the world. When you educate a child, you’ve equipped them for life. You can take everything I have away from me, but you cannot take away what is inside my head.”

Also present at the inauguration was the Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon Mojeed Balogun, represented by the Supervisor for Education, Hon Pelumi Ologonje; and the Head of the Education Department, Ikeja LGA, Folakemi Ajayi.

Ologonje noted that he was happy at the project, adding that a library plays a pivotal role in the development of the society. The library contained books and new computers. More so, renovation was also done in the school’s toilets and a classroom which was previously abandoned.

In her remark, the headmistress of the school, Edith Ehirim, thanked the church for the project. According to Ehirim, current pupils and those unborn will benefit from the project. Meanwhile, it is the appropriate investment one can give to the next generation.

This will not be the first time the church will be carrying out its corporate social responsibility. In the past, they have been involved in some laudable projects including supporting health centers across the country.
