2023: Oyedepo warns Nigerians against voting for deceptive candidates

Oyedepo

The President of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has warned Nigerians against voting for deceptive candidates for the 2023 presidential elections. He made this statement during his Easter message in his church.

The preacher reminded his congregation how he spoke about the tough times Nigerians would face if they vote in President Muhammadu Buhari. He noted that the people are heading towards making the same error again because they have a short memory. In several teachings, the revered cleric has condemned the Buhari-led government for its poor leadership style.

Oyedepo said, “There are people God confides Himself in. Not because of their experience or age but because of their heart for Him. I knew Nigeria was heading for a waterloo. He confided in me. They are under torture.

“Somebody commented recently, you know why Bishop stopped? He shouted and shouted, but they didn’t hear. What will I ever get from it? Will I get elected from it?

“I knew that in 1984, there is no position on this earth that I will fight for. I have taken a strong position in Christ. Now they are going again, deceiving you, what a people with a short memory.”

There were several reactions to his statement. Jegede Jerry wrote, "If I were Bishop Oyedepo, I will continue to be silence for Nigerians to enjoy their disaster to the fullest. When he cried out, we shut him down but the voice of God cannot be shut down."

Achinihu Boniface commented, "Even in 2023, without the help of God, I see Nigerians repeating the same mistake."

Lawrence Chinatu said, *Whomever sings President Buhari's praise does not love Nigeria. The most incompetent President of Nigeria till date. Nigeria will enjoy resurrection power. Happy Easter."

Bezaleel Orogun said, "He shouted it and warned Nigerians, 'don't vote this disaster called Buhari in 2015 and 2019.' But like the stubborn Israelites of old who are stiff necked and won't hear word, Nigerians abused and shunned him. Tiay we see the calamity outcome! But have Nigerians learnt from their butter long suffering experience in the hands of Buhari? It appears they have not. Too bad."
