New York Gov., Kathy Hochul, Urges Church Members to Spread Love During Christmas by Being Vaccinated

The governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, has admonished members of Bethany Baptist Church to spread love and friendship during this Christmas season. She also urged them to be vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.

The message of the 63-year-old political leader, which was monitored by The Christian Post, comes in the period the omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus is becoming rampant. The virus has made various colleges and school districts in the state to put physical learning on hold.

Hochul said, “So during this holiday season, I have one request. We don’t want to spread COVID. We will spread love and we will spread friendship and spread the love of Christ during this holiday season.

“Remember why we are together. It was the birth of Christ that we honor and we celebrate. And that is the spirit that fills all of us during Christmas. And let’s not lose sight of that. We all have each other and we’re going to continue to fight for each other, protect each other because that’s what Christ would want us to do.”

Besides, the New York governor talked about her early years and how she was a member of a social justice Catholic family where she and her family didn’t just listen to the teachings of Christ on weekends, but they also put those words to practice.’’

She continued, “My parents helped start a neighborhood center to help people who had so many needs. And as a child, I went and saw this in person and realized all of us are called to serve.

“That sense of faith has guided me on the right path every single day. As I asked God for His prayers, I also ask all of you for your prayers to continue to lift me up.”

Hochul also emphasized on the need for children to be vaccinated, not just for them to go back to school, but for them to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Get our grandkids vaccinated. I don’t want anybody else to miss a single day of school. We have to rebuild them. We have to get them back in a classroom, get them in that nurturing environment,” she said.
